Exyte Singapore secures dual honours at PMI Singapore Project of the Year Awards 2025
Exyte Singapore has been recognized with top honours in two categories within the Engineering & Construction segment at the 11th Project of the Year (POY) Awards 2025, organized by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Singapore Chapter.
This recognition places the awarded projects among the most outstanding in Singapore across industries and highlights Exyte’s continued excellence in complex project delivery, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Award‑winning manufacturing facility expansion
One of the awarded projects was recognized for the successful fast-track expansion of a manufacturing facility within a live production environment. The scope included ISO Class 7 cleanrooms, central utilities, laboratories, office spaces, and supporting infrastructure – all delivered without interrupting ongoing operations.
Through meticulous planning and disciplined execution, the Exyte team ensured full business continuity while minimizing disruption to production. Advanced digital and project management tools, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital management control systems, and Primavera P6 scheduling, were deployed to manage complexity and maintain schedule certainty. Innovative construction methodologies further contributed to reduced delivery timelines.
The project also set new benchmarks in safety performance, achieving more than one million manhours with zero lost time injuries (LTI). In recognition of this achievement, the project received the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) in 2024.
“This award recognizes the collective effort required to plan, coordinate, and execute every phase of work in a live environment,” says Peter Sutton, Senior Project Manager at Exyte. “Strong collaboration, rigorous controls, and a shared commitment to excellence were key to the project’s success. Recognition from PMI Singapore is a meaningful endorsement of the professionalism demonstrated by the entire team.”
First‑of‑its‑kind greenhouse gas abatement system for semiconductor manufacturing
The second awarded project marks a major milestone in sustainable semiconductor manufacturing with the successful delivery of Singapore’s first centralized greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement system for a live semiconductor fabrication facility, completed without any production disruption.
Developed through targeted research and development, the system reduces perfluorocarbon (PFC) emissions by approximately 95 percent, addressing one of the most potent and long‑lived categories of greenhouse gases in semiconductor production.
The project demanded full engineering, procurement, and construction execution, with more than 350 thousand manhours completed and zero lost time injuries achieved. Several interdependent process subsystems are integrated seamlessly with facility monitoring and control systems to handle exhaust pressures up to negative 10,000 pascals (Pa), flow rates of 9,550 cubic metres per hour (m³/h), and design temperatures up to 850 degrees Celsius (°C).
“This award validates our ability to deliver a first‑of‑its‑kind system through engineering excellence and disciplined execution,” says Goh Puay Meng, Project Manager at Exyte. “Achieved with zero safety incidents and no production disruption, this milestone reflects the exceptional commitment, collaboration, and precision of our teams and partners.
Exyte proves once again its ability to deliver high-impact, complex projects
“Recognition at the PMI Singapore Project of the Year Awards reinforces Exyte’s position as a trusted partner for delivering high‑impact, complex projects in highly demanding, live environments.
“These awards are a testament to the exceptional capability and dedication of our teams in Southeast Asia,” says Jerry O’Sullivan, Exyte’s Executive Vice President Operations Southeast Asia. “Delivering complex projects in live, high‑tech environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and innovation is a remarkable achievement, and we are proud to see our teams recognized on such a prestigious platform.”
About the PMI Singapore Project of the Year Awards
Established in 2014, the Project of the Year Awards are a prestigious, merit‑based platform recognizing exceptional projects delivered in Singapore. Open to corporations, SMEs, startups, and government agencies, the awards celebrate best‑in‑class achievements across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on engineering, construction, and business systems.
Projects are evaluated by an independent panel of experts against criteria including value creation, delivery complexity, innovation, and adherence to project management best practices.
