Allergopharma - Aseptic Production - Formulation and Filling

Project Overview

One challenging project in our company history was the new aseptic filling line for Allergopharma in Reinbek/Hamburg. This customer specialized in allergy medication and wanted to expand their existing site with a new production line.

Project Approach

The customer was aiming for both a representative and functional production building. However, the existing area was rather limited and local restrictions in the industrial area had to be considered. In a challenging design and execution process, we were able to implement all requirements into a representative and fit-for-purpose building.

The process is based on a wide range of natural products as raw material, with many manual steps including long holding times. Another challenge was to transform the traditional process into efficient and focused operation under GMP conditions.

An unplanned confirmation of our good work came in 2021, when the plant started production of BioNTech’s vaccine Comirnaty® in a short time with only minor modifications.
